Words of Appreciation for Heartland Hospice Services of Fremont
My mother-in-law had been sick with colon cancer for a few months. She lived with us, and we didn't want her to go into a nursing home. I was her full-time caregiver. When she got to the point that we needed to call hospice, I was a little overwhelmed. Carrie, her RN, came to our home and talked to us for a couple hours. Heartland was definitely the best decision for my mother-in-law that we could have made. You guys stepped in and were completely amazing. You took a huge weight off my shoulders. The nurses, aides, social workers and everyone from hospice was wonderful. My mother-in-law was treated with dignity and respect. Everyone was so good to her. Julie, her aide, was so gentle with her. She bathed her and put lotion on her. She brushed her hair. Little things like matching her socks with her pajamas. It sounds silly, but it meant the world to us. I thank God for all of you.
The day she passed was the hardest day of my life. She wasn't just my mother-in-law. She was my mom and my friend. Amanda came to my house in less than 15 minutes after my call. She stayed with us until my mom was taken away. Even though she had passed, she was still treated with dignity. I could never repay you guys for what you did for us. I am forever thankful. Today, I received a call from your office. My mom has passed away but still you call to check on us. There's a special place in heaven for you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
