My Mother, Shirley, was a Heartland Hospice patient in Rockford, Illinois starting in April of this year. She passed away November 13. The purpose of this note is to commend the outstanding work done by her hospice nurse, Lindsay. I loved my Mother dearly, and dreaded losing her. It was especially difficult for me because I am in California and couldn’t see for myself what was happening. Shortly after Mom went into hospice care, I was visiting and Lindsay made it a point to come when I was there so we could meet. It was immediately apparent to me that she genuinely cared about my Mom and I could trust her to be my eyes and ears, and with any concerns I might have.
I am grateful to Lindsay for all she did for our family during a difficult and important time. Her care was a precious gift we were lucky to receive. I can’t imagine anything she could have done better. Please use this feedback as an opportunity to recognize her as a role model and thank her for her kindness.
