Heartland Hospice Honors WWII U.S. Air Force Veteran

Every day, Heartland has the distinct honor of providing hundreds of U.S. military veterans with hospice care. We take pride in thanking our veteran patients with special recognition throughout the year. Heartland Hospice serving Central Maryland/Baltimore Metro Area thanked veteran patient, Robert Hurley with a special ceremony at Woodlands Assisted Living facility where he was awarded a certificate in appreciation and thanks for his military service.

Robert is a World War II veteran who completed 32 missions while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Robert’s daughter, Annie and her partner, Colin attended the ceremony. Annie and her father reflected on a photo of Robert’s from the war that showcases a moment when he and many of his fellow Airforce soldiers were gathered together preparing for their next mission.

“I am so proud of my dad and grateful to Heartland Hospice for helping us to celebrate him for his dedicated military service,” expressed Annie. “He still remembers his time in the Air Force with great honor and pride,” she added, “recognizing my dad’s achievements is important to both of us, especially at this time in his life. Thank you so much for this gift!”
