HCR ManorCare and its service provider Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice take great pride in their helpful, caring and responsive employees who are committed to providing quality care to our patients and residents. Our employees around the country are regularly honored at their locations by patients, residents, family members and fellow employees for the care and caring they provide. Our company now has taken the recognition a step higher in launching a program that on a quarterly basis will honor a Champion of Caring for each of our seven operating divisions, one of whom will be named an HCR ManorCare Champion of Caring, a national champion chosen from among 50,000 employees across all service lines.

“I am pleased to announce that Mike Garrison, Spiritual Care Coordinator at Heartland Hospice serving Fairview Heights, is the Home Health Care and Hospice Division’s 3rd Quarter Champion of Caring,” said Leslie Mackey, General Manager of Heartland Home Health and Hospice West Division. “I congratulate him for embodying the spirit of caring we value in interactions with patients, families and fellow employees.”
Mike has been with Heartland for 14 years following 20 years of service in the Air Force. He has worked through personal loss to mold an end-of-life calling based on compassion, honesty and dignity. “He amazes his co-workers with his patient-focused dedication,” said Page Belongy, Heartland Hospice Administrator. “Leading by example, Mike is an inspiration to his entire agency, the facilities he visits and the patients and families he touches,” added Page.
